Ready to join the world's largest youth movement? We're a friendly, active Group at St George's Church in Jesmond, and there's a place here for your child.
After you sign up
What happens next
No silence after you press submit. This is the process every application goes through.
You fill in our joining form
It's on Online Scout Manager and takes about five minutes. You'll need your child's date of birth, your contact details and an email address.
We check which section fits
Our Group Lead Volunteer looks at every form and places your child in the right section for their age.
They're added to our records
With your consent, your child is added to Online Scout Manager — which is also where you'll keep their details up to date.
When there's a space, you'll hear from us
We send you a welcome pack and invite your child to their first meeting. If the section is full, they're on the waiting list until a place opens up.

Every week, over 60 young people come together at St George's to try new things, make lifelong friends and have an incredible time.

Not sure which section?
Don't worry — just sign up and we'll place your child in the right section for their age. If your child is under 6, they'll go on our Beavers waiting list and we'll be in touch when a space opens up.
Is there a waiting list?
Often, especially for Beavers. Places go first to young people moving up from a younger section, then to children of our leaders and trustees, brothers and sisters of members, transfers from another group, and then those new to Scouting. Our Admissions Policy has the detail.
Could you help too?
We're always looking for adult volunteers. No experience needed — we provide full training and DBS checks. Volunteer with us.
