Who are Cubs?

Cubs are young people aged 8–10½ who:

  • Master new skills and try new things
  • Have fun on new adventures
  • Make friends
  • Are curious about the world around them
  • Help others and make a difference, in their local communities and beyond

Every week, our Cubs meet on Wednesdays, 5:30–6:45pm, to take part in lots of interesting and challenging activities — achieving anything they set their minds to, and having lots of fun along the way.

What do Cubs get up to?

Being a Cub is all about growing and learning in small but mighty ways. Here are just a few of the things our Cubs get up to:

  • Going on adventures
  • Exploring the great outdoors
  • Playing games and sports
  • Unleashing creativity
  • Learning about the world around them

Cubs also spend at least four nights away each year, whether it's a sleepover at the hall or a camping adventure as a section or with our friends in Beavers and Scouts.

Joining Cubs

Cubs started in 1916 for younger brothers who wanted a look-in. In over a century the section has constantly evolved to meet the needs of each generation of young people, and these days it's more important than ever.

Cubs is open to young people aged 8 to 10½. It's all about adventure and having fun. If your child is interested, fill in our joining form.
